2. Application of natural gamma ray logging:
Lithologic identification: rock stratums are identified with different gamma values.Estimation of shale content: Gamma values are used for estimation of shale content.
Stratigraphic correlation: subsurface geology situation of oilfield or a block, i.e. vertical and horizontal layout of heavy layer and lithology.
can be obtained through correlation of gamma values of many wells to facilitate further investigation into subsurface structure, lithic facies.
